Correlation of blood sugar and HbA1C levels in different stage of diabetes retinopathy

Objectives: This present study was to evaluate the different parameters and correlation of blood sugar HbA1C levels for development retinopathy in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Methods: A complete assessment, general physical examination routine haematological investigations were performed all fundus done with help direct indirect Ophthalmoscope. Biochemical (Blood Sugar- Fasting Post Prandial, level) performed. Patients called follow up after 1 month, 3 months 6 months. Results: total 100 patients enrolled this study. Most cases 67(67%) males age group 51-60 years. out 191 eyes, most 72(37.7%) had PDR. Rest 58(30.36%) severe NPDR, 46(24.08%) moderate 9(4.71%) others 6(3.14%) mild NPDR. HbA1c 94(49.21%) 6.5-8.5. 170(89.53%) DR glucose level > 140 mg% on PP.
